Last week the young ‘un and I finished our own round of the three Yorkshire Peaks with a breezy stomp to the top of Whernside. We felt the first cold winds of Autumn and descended back to Chapel Le Dale against an ethereal light in the late afternoon.

The record for the 3 peaks fell race stands unchallenged at 2 hours, 46 minutes and 3 seconds set by Andy Peace of Bingley Harriers. It took me and the wee mountain goat just shy of 18 months from start to finish, then again we did stop for quite a few sarnies, we spent a warm summer’s night on Ingleborough sleeping under a tarp just shy near the summit and we also headed home for a few months between each hill… not sub 3 hours, but you simply can’t rush these things.

Here are a few photos from our year and a half mooch around Yorkshire’s finest; Ingleborough, Pen Y Ghent and more recently Whernside respectively.DCIM100GOPROGOPR0357.JPG3p10DCIM100GOPROGOPR0362.JPGingleborough8DCIM100GOPROG0160470.JPGDCIM102GOPROG0571746.JPGDCIM102GOPROG0591793.JPGSONY DSC3p93p11
